The Graduate Students in the Department of Classics & Religion (CLARE) at the University of Calgary are pleased to invite abstracts for our upcoming annual symposium on April 16 - 17th 2018, titled “Man, Gods, Power: a Sacred Triangle?”. This year’s theme seeks to promote discussions on a variety of aspects of that ideological geometry across human history, welcoming presentations on topics such as the relationship between human beings and the divine, religion and power, human strategies of legitimization of authority and more. Interdisciplinary approaches and papers pushing the boundaries of our theme will be considered as well. We encourage Graduate Students in the fields of Anthropology, Archaeology, History, Literature, Political Sciences, Sociology and more to take this chance to present your research in a friendly environment.

Abstracts for 15 minutes presentations should not exceed the 250 - 300 words.

Abstract Submission Deadline: February 28, 2018
Please submit abstracts to: clare.dga.uofc@gmail.com
